Well, this was another great weekend. It started with me working all day on Friday. I'm not into working my butt off on Fridays because they are going to be pretty long. but i worked from like 8-6:20ish. Then, the church I'm attending is doing a ministry to inner city youth so they open up the gym and have Friday Night Hoops. So i went out and assisted with that. After that, I played a little 2-on-2. I played 2 games and I won both times. I'm freakin' sore now!! I'm out of shape and it's pathetic. Then after that I went to a bonfire which was really like a campfire and had a great time. You know, i'm really thankful for Luke, Leah, Robin, Kellie, Kevin and his girlfriend (can't remember her name), Brianna, jason, nick, and whitney. You guys have really made my transition alot better. Thanks for taking me in.
Saturday i slept in and then met Zack for some Salsarita's (sp) and then played guitar for a while. Then that night, I went back out with most of the same group and did ANOTHER campfire. Only this time, Kevin and I went and grabbed some sushi. yea, now that i think about it, kinda funny for a campfire to be eating sushi...that's not really roughing it. We should have had Starbucks and we'd really been city like. Anyway, it was a blast.
Sunday, I woke up really early and played bass at church. it was pretty fun. The message today was on Sin. Sin in our lives is just nasty. The phrase that really stuck out to me today was this: "Sin in our lives completly changes the landscape in which we live ". Man, that's soo true. Sin, not only affects us but everyone around us. It can end relationshps and basically prevents you from being the person God has created you to be. its not good stuff! It reminds me of the scripture where the religious people wanted to stone the woman caught in adultry. they wanted to stone her but Jesus told them in paraphrase, "Go ahead...but only if you have not sinned." One-by-one they left starting with oldest first. Jesus then was left standing there with her. He could have stoned her being he had never sinned but said, "go and sin no more" wouldn't it be nice if today we could have that type of talk. Although, i'd be pretty ashamed to have that type of talk. I think we all would. I'm just thankful for mercy and grace.
I start my "training" tomorrow. Say a prayer.
