Hello to my Pinnacle Family, the West Lonsdale Crew, my new family at Belmont Heights, and everyone in between. You are receiving this email from me because every one of you has played a part in my life. For some, it’s been a long time since we have talked or seen each other. That’s why I felt it was appropriate for me to send an email and update you on life in East Tennessee. For those of you that do not know, I re-located to Knoxville the last weekend in September. God has taught me a lot in the past few months. There have been a few divine appointments; I landed a job working for Home Federal Bank of Tennessee. For those of you that know me, one of my struggles coming out of college was deciding if God had called me to serve on staff of a church or to be a “Light” in the work place. This is a company with a LOT of Christians and a LOT of Christians in leadership. My time there has been great. I’ve already been offered management opportunities in just a few short months. My co-workers are great and things on that end are going well.
Since, being in Knoxville, I’ve attended some great concerts and I’m a converted University of Tennessee Fan. I was able to go to two home football games. Being with 110,000 of my closest friends was great (Especially with them beating the Georgia Bulldogs and South Carolina Gamecocks). Before I even arrived here I was traveling in and leading worship at West Lonsdale Baptist Church. I was able to use my music for the Lord and those people really enjoyed it. I love worshiping with them! Through some more divine appointments, I became the student pastor of Belmont Heights Baptist Church. It is a great church and I can see the student ministry already growing. I am very excited about the future of this church. I have A LOT on my plate but I am enjoying it. I have 20+ students that are allowing God to impact their lives and change those around them. For those of you wondering about the dating life…Well, the nickname from Pinnacle was Special K, I’m still doing my “thang” so, don’t worry about that. I bring my “A” game every day.
For those of you that know me, you know that music is huge passion of mine. I’ve been singing since I was in middle school and playing guitar since college and feel as a musician I’ve grown. I have been able to travel all over the southeast doing what I love…MUSIC! I have been blessed over the years to have shared the stage with some of you and to lead worship in some of your churches or just meet for prayer and coffee. There is something about being on stage and leading people in worship. It’s an incredible thing and something I don’t take lightly. For those that don’t know, I auditioned for American Idol season seven in Atlanta and Charleston. Although I did not make it, it was an incredible experience and something I’ll remember for the rest of my life. I hope to audition again by the way. Many people have encouraged me to record a project in the past. Honestly, recording something has been somewhat of a dream of mine. I knew from an early age that God had something in store for me in this area. I have had a strong desire to record a project but more than that, have a traveling music ministry. For some reason, God has continued to place this vision on my heart. I have found a company in Knoxville that will allow me to record a project and market it. I have seen their work and its awesome. This is a project that I am very excited about. I met with the president of the company last week. It was another divine appointment. After sharing with him my desire and even singing for him, I have been given a great opportunity through them. This company has done marketing and recording work for Kohl’s, Goody’s, Dollywood, Great American Country, CMT, and on and on. So to be able to sit with the President of this company, sing, and hear some very encouraging things from him was unbelievable.
So, now what? I’m sending this email to you to update you on my life, and ask you to begin praying for me. With this project, I’m praying that God will continue to open the doors that have already been opened and then some. I am dreaming big on this and I’m praying Gods in it every step of the way. I’m praying that I will be a man used by God and for God. However, this is a project that I can not afford on my own. So, I’m asking that if God would lead you in supporting me in this project that you would be willing to give. I want to tell you in advance thank you for your support and love over the years. I look forward to the future because I think it is going to be awesome! To the Pinnacle family, I love and miss you guys, to West Lonsdale Baptist, I love and miss you guys, to my new family and Belmont Heights I can’t wait to see how God will move, and those who fall in the “other” category I can’t wait to hear from you.
