It's Monday afternoon and I'm thankful I didn't have to work today. I know all of you guys absolutely partied hard in celebration of this random holiday...PRESIDENT'S Day!!! It turned out to be an interesting weekend to say the least. Saturday, I shopped it up at Steve & Berry's and it wasn't half bad. Never been to it and I got some clothes for work which were nice. The rest of Saturday was spent preparing for the sermon I preached on Sunday morning at Belmont Heights Baptist Church. It was neat to be able to do that.
I preached on Daniel 6 and how he lived out the life as an Authentic Witness. It was great. God moved and I know people experienced freedom on Sunday!
Today, I had the opportunity to attend the Pastors Conference in Maryville, TN and heard Dr. Sager of First Baptist Concord. It's a large church and Dr. Sager is in his 60s and close to retirement. But, he preached a messege I needed to hear.
4 Things he tells young pastors
1.Forgive people
2.Forget what they have done against you
3.Focus on the positive and move forward
4.Faith-find out what your passion is b/c that's what will keep you going.
